Night is for Listening
03:43
|
|||
Night is silver,
what are you seeking?
It's a secret, you have to guess,
here's a loon, she said.
He just kept on sleeping.
By and by he began to cry, a little.
Have you seen my little red wagon?
Little hands, tiny feet, flour, coffee.
A dog with a red collar.
Night is for listening, and resting, and dreaming.
By and by he began to cry, a little.
Have you seen my little red wagon?
A painted stove,
the circles almost a circle.
A train, a penguin, a tiled floor,
two handles and strawberry tins.
By and by he began to cry, a little.
Have you seen my little red wagon?
He just kept on sleeping.
He just kept on sleeping.
He just kept on sleeping.

The Air Could Be Our Sea
04:45
|
|||
Once we sang into the hills and fell
as the rain fell
you were lauging
and i felt that too.
Once we spoke into the sand
the shore was slanted
so we slanted your cheek onto me.
When you cried I felt that too.
Will you fly away, with me, over the sea?
If I fly away, would you fly with me over the sea?
I know the wind could break our wings,
but drift with me, the air could be our sea.
I would like to tell you
about a place I used to love
where the cobwebs hung
like lace on the window.
You could tell me something too.
You tell me of baseball fields
and overgrown grass
Of things that change
and others that last.
Will you fly away, with me, over the sea?
If I fly away, would you fly with me over the sea?
I know the wind could break our wings,
but drift with me, the air could be our sea.

A shirt bought for a quarter
and some red shoes.
Two paper clips folded on top bottom blues.
A pink plastic cup
filled to the brim with lemonade.
Three apples in a white bowl
and then there is the rain.
Slumber spins the cold air.
Slumber turns to singing turns to air.
A yellow flower in a garden
can I pick it for you?
